Zhihao Fu
Student and software developer focused on backend systems, iOS, and open-source infrastructure.
Building for the real world.
From PXE boot servers to VPN tunnels — I write code that solves real infrastructure and product problems.
I'm a York University student based in Toronto, passionate about backend infrastructure, networking, and full-stack development. I've worked across iOS networking, Linux deployment automation, data tooling, and IT operations.
I believe great software is reliable, well-tested, and user-focused. Whether it's integrating a QUIC-based VPN client or designing a diskless PXE cluster, I dig into the details and make things work.
Outside of code, I've led small teams at hackathons, managed operations for a local business, and kept servers running smoothly under the hood.

Things I've built — from open-source tools to production-ready apps.
ReCasaOS
A security-first community continuation of CasaOS, focused on safer self-hosting, maintainable upgrades, and transparent hardening.
View on GitHub →Qubic Revenue Calculator
Combines network performance data, user inputs, and pricing data to estimate mining revenue with visual outputs. Built and improved through community feedback.
View on GitHub →LuminetVPN
A production-ready iOS VPN app built with Apple Network Extension APIs. Integrated a QUIC-based Hysteria2 client with packet-tunnel architecture. Managed full delivery pipeline including provisioning, signing, TestFlight distribution, and UI iteration.
PXE-Based Linux Compute Node Deployment
A helper tool for deploying diskless Linux compute nodes through PXE boot — orchestrating DHCP/TFTP, boot images, and NFS root configuration with automatic network/rack topology discovery and per-node configuration.

York University
Building a broad foundation while applying what I learn to hands-on work in backend infrastructure, networking, mobile development, and open-source software.
Where I've worked.
From enterprise IT to startup operations.
Operations & Marketing Lead
Administration, onboarding, scheduling, vendor coordination, and finance workflows. Managed content, social media, SEO/SEM, CRM/analytics, and impact-vs-effort prioritization.
Freelance Technical Operations
Maintained and supported Linux-based HPC/server environments — backups, log review, routine automation. Created runbooks and monitoring guides for consistent troubleshooting.
Operations Engineer Intern
Supported Linux/Windows server maintenance, patching, backups, user administration, and basic reporting scripts.
IT Maintenance Team Member
Maintained computer labs, resolved hardware/software issues, and contributed to preventive maintenance processes.
